~ Da Rules ~

a.k.a. "The Boring Stuff" it'll be short. We promise. :)

  1. IMPORTANT: Please be nice! This means...

    1. No trolling or griefing

    2. No hate speech

    3. No flaming.

    4. Be considerate of others in general.

  2. No non-approved weapons or spell HUDs allowed.

  3. No public acts of sexual conduct. This is all well and good behind closed doors but that’s about it! Please keep it PG when out in the open and confine the smexy chat to IM channels and the pose-balling to private rooms (remember to mute sound).

  4. No Non-Themed Avatars / Attire. While we do accept and love all types of critters, it is however frowned upon to be in an avatar and/or and outfit that doesn't fit the medieval setting for the village.

    1. Approved races found in the Characters  section

    2. Approved attire is either medieval or steampunk-ish

    3. No ridiculous avatar height.  (example...no dwarf is allowed to be 9 feet tall) I'm sorry but were just not interested in Shaq wannabes. You keep to the size that's appropriate for your race.  And not any larger! If caught breaking this rule you will be asked by a DM to change it in a designated area. Failure to follow this or any rules especially when warned will result in a temp ban. Further violations equal a perm ban.

  5. Please remember to only act within the limitations of your chosen role. Each role plays specific parts! (example: If your a guard then obviously you’re not a bartender)

  6. We ask that OOC chat be kept to a minimum in local chat. And when OOC is being used, please use the double-parentheses model. Example ==> ((OOC Text here))

  7. Combat can be either metered or free-form. Just be sure that when using a meter that the combat is consensual. Remember, no griefing.

  8. Three massive No-no’s: Metagaming, Powerplay, Godmodding.

    • Metagaming: this is a situation where one player finds out something about another character when everyone's just chatting as players (OOC in other words), but then during a roleplay, they use that acquired "knowledge" to their advantage. EXAMPLE: Billy (the player of Barbarous the Barbarian) is chatting with Cindy (the player of Dalia the dark elf priestess) in private OOC chat, and Cindy tells Billy that Dalia has a tragic allergy to roses. Then, all of a sudden, while playing their characters, Barbarous whips out some roses he picked, shoves them into Dalia's face and makes off with her treasure while she suffers a sneezing fit! Summary? Billy just committed Metagaming.

    • Powerplay (aka Powergaming): This is the practice of maxing out your character's hard statistics and ignoring him as a person. You want to spend all your time killing monsters, taking their stuff, and racking up XP; and you couldn't care less about interacting and character development? Then you're a power gamer.

    • Godmodding: Godmodding is a variant of powerplay, also known as "Twinking." Remember when you were kids playing superheroes? One one of you said, "got you" and the other guy said, "no you didn't." Then you started the old game of "I zap you with my laser gun" and "well, I drop a nuclear bomb on you." Ugh. That's godmodding. And aren't we all better than that?

  9. To make this simple: if you cannot thoroughly and legitimately back up your actions in RP via detail, background, etc... Don’t Do It.

  10. No Poaching: poaching is the act of recruiting people to other RP sims and groups while standing inside our village. It's very rude, in case you were wondering.
